A Eurasian Jay in Hokkaido — following up on its striking dark iris from last time, I managed to capture the vivid blue-and-black barring on its wing coverts beautifully 😊🪶

The Red-Breasted Nuthatches *love* pine nuts. Their beaks are perfectly designed for extracting them from cones. If you zoom in on the third pic you can see he’s extracting a prize #birds 🌿
