100% smoke free since early July. I'm not going to claim it was easy, but it wasn't nearly as difficult as I expected, which has been a pleasant surprise. If I had known it was going to go this way, I would have done it a decade ago.

On the Nova Scotia Power Facebook posts that allow commenting (many don't these days) there are suddenly a lot of folks belligerently defending the business. So there are a lot of people out there with big feelings and no self respect, or someone is organizing a little astroturf campaign.

Our health-care system has flaws but the thrust of his complaint is that our system isn't like the American system, so it seems unlikely there would've been any way for him to be happy here.

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

The quality of crime reporting in Nova Scotia is appalling. The majority of crime and policing stories are, at best, paraphrases of police press releases and more often, just press releases verbatim. I've learned more about the weekend's emergency alert from online randos than I have from media.
