The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere increased by a record amount last year, says @wmo-global.bsky.social.

The record annual rise comes amid growing signs that forests, peatlands, oceans and other natural "sinks" are failing to absorb as much CO2 as they normally do.

LP:n kulttuurissa tänään vielä kerran laajasti suomalaisesta elokuvasta. Osa viime vuosien parhaista elokuvista on tehty suurella taloudellisella riskillä ja olemattomilla palkoilla. Asiasta halutaan vaieta. Mukana mm. Lapua 1976:n taustoja: tekijät ottivat 500 000 euron lainan ja valtavan riskin.

Jep. Voihan sen noinkin spinnata, mutta todennäköisempää on että aiemmat omistajat myivät vain ehdokkaista eniten tarjonneelle. Valtava pohjoismainen mediajätti enemmistöomistajana ei vain ole kovin hyvä _look_.

One by one, American leaders supposedly committed to principles of free speech, due process, democracy, and equality have abandoned those ideals when menaced by the Trump administration. These cascading acts of cowardice from the people best positioned to resist Trump’s authoritarian power grabs have made Trump seem exponentially more powerful than he actually is, sapping strength from others who might have discovered the courage to stand up. Defending democracy requires a collective refusal to acquiesce to lawless behavior from many different sectors of society. All of these powerful people trying to save their own skin have effectively multiplied Trump’s attacks on constitutional government, by enhancing a false sense of inevitability and invincibility.

Kävin läpi VM:n kevään 2023 ennusteen onnistumiset ja epäonnistumiset. Valitettavasti näyttää siltä, että ainoa mikä on yllättänyt, on VM:n itse hallitukselle esittelemä politiikka ja sen rajut negatiiviset vaikutukset Suomen taloudelle. On surullista ja kamalaa katseltavaa.

Katsoin, mitä VM ennusti keväällä 2023 ennen Orpon hallituksen aloittamista Suomen talouden tulevien vuosien kehitykseksi. Hämmentävää on se, että rahapolitiikan (lyhyt korko) ura on ennustettu lähes kohdalleen, samoin inflaatioura. Kaikki muu on mennyt vihkoon, pahiten työmarkkinaennuste.

A lot of US elites get their information from sycophants, other rich people in rich people bubbles, and personal social media feeds (especially X, yes still).
