I'm starting to suspect we haven't seen alien cultures because either:
a) They don't develop digital technologies and can't leave their systems.
b) Their digital technologies spiraled out of control, killing them all. And their AI aren't interested in contracting us.

Nice. We're about halfway through series 2. Give the changing times, I expect the Blake/Avon dynamic to be far more explicitly gay.
