"Not as clumsy or random as a blaster; an elegant weapon for a more civilized age..."
I've not read it in years, but the second I saw "Denis O. Smith", I thought, "Oh, he's the 'Purple Hand' man!", which is a fabulous apocryphal Holmes!

I used to visit the bit at New Kilpatrick cemetery in Bearsden, and standing on the northern side used to make me feel like Asterix the McGaul...

Any followers in or around Brussels, don't miss this opportunity to see the incredible Mr Cameron drawing donuts to music at the Belgian Comic Strip Museum!!
THIS EVENING I will be LIVE-DRAWING DONUTS on a big screen, to a LIVE ORCHESTRA ACCOMPANIMENT, as part of a special British Comics Now event at the Brussels Comic Art Museum, and it just occurred to me that I should… mention this?

Will you get a long stand while you're there...?
Walks like Liam Gallagher...
Yeah, but you'd have to have them play "I Got You Babe" at 06:00 every day first...

Some tips for this:
- If you haven't got a portfolio, you can make 8 pages by mid Nov if you start now.
- Just bring your finished work.
- Print it out unless its a webcomic (crappy printing is better than no printing).
- Think about your storytelling
- A4 p/copies are fine.
- Bring your questions.

I just released SHOOT FIRST QUESTION LATER: YEAR ONE, a 40-page, full-colour zine from my first year of photography, presented in chronological order, showing my growth as I search for my voice. I'm very proud of this collection and happy to be making zines again.

@harryshearer.bsky.social I know that correlation isn't causation, but it surely *must* be the recent release of "Tap 2", and the increased (ahem) prominence of Derek Smalls, that's led to shortages in the Sainsbury's veg aisle today...??
