“The European Convention on Human Rights protects us all. The rights within it are the reason why families devastated by disasters like Hillsborough could demand justice, why victims of abuse can seek safety, & why disabled people are treated with dignity in care

Holding govts to ransom.

Goldman Sachs warns Rachel Reeves against tax rises on banks.

Banks happy to be bailed out, take QE, mis-sell products, not to be prosecuted for frauds, hike charges, pay lousy rates on savings.

Need windfall taxes. Raise top rate of income tax.
Goldman chief delivers warning to Reeves over bank tax hikes
David Solomon urged the chancellor during a private meeting last week not to hit the industry with savage tax rises in her crucial budget statement next month, Sky News learns.

Surprised, tbh, given the extent to which my former schoolfriend has been in the headlines, that people are just talking about the Kremlin bribes as if it was the only interesting thing about him. There's actually enough material in the back pages to give Jed Mercurio two or three seasons' worth.

Ever since I finished Question Time, Reform have massively been on the attack.

Including a rant from Richard Tice entirely designed to distract from Reform and Russia.

Everyone should know about Nathan Gill, the bribes from Russia and the link to Reform.

OFC he’ll quietly join the long non EU queue, while his wife and kids stroll through, he’s that sort of guy 😂

Except Mr F, who’s likely got a European passport. When will the media ask him ?Queues are for the little people !

If Question Time was a boxing match tonight was Zack Polanski (Green) v Zia Yusuf (Reform).

And it was an easy TKO knockout for Zack.

I doubt he will be invited back on, Reform can't handle him and they own Question Time.

The BBC is slowly but surely destroying Radio 4 as well. It’s the last bastion of intelligent debate in Britain, yet it’s increasingly becoming a vehicle for culture wars. When the history of the UK in this period is written, the BBC will have a lot to answer for when it comes to stirring division

Trying to remain cautiously optimistic for the Gaza ceasefire. Can't shake the feeling though that if Trump doesn't win the Nobel Peace Prize he will throw a full scorched earth tantrum and trash everything.

The headline should read: Since 2020, Brits could be banned from the EU due to Brexit removing our status, freedoms, and opportunities as European citizens. Now it will be harder to cheat the 90/180 rule.

Also another example of the UK tabloids hating it when the EU takes 'control' of its borders
Brits could be banned from holiday homes under EU's 90-day rule
The EU has ordered member states to apply the 90/180-day rule 'rigidly', meaning Brits who overstay could be hit with hefty fines of up to £8,700 and even ten-year bans from entering the bloc.

Stevie, Kash, Kristi and Russ are hated from afar. ICE agents can be hated UP CLOSE. And it WILL affect them. Make them as uncomfortable as possible.

Revolutionary new dryer that runs entirely off of wind and solar energy, making it Energy Star rated and coming in at a cost point of nearly free!

We flounced out of the EU on the say-so of politicians who lied to us. And what a total shitshow that’s turned out to be. The polar opposite of what they promised. Now the call to flounce out of the ECHR. By the same people. Telling the same lies. Has the country been kicked in the head by a horse?

In the 1970's the Government owned Energy, Water, Gas, Rail, Mail

They were the cheapest ever, the best service ever and they even cost the Government much less than they do now

Now they are privatised, ridiculously expensive, terrible service, and cost the Government a fortune

Did you know that for the past 25 years, there's a law that's been quietly defending your rights every day?

That's the Human Rights Act at work

Happy Birthday to the HRA 🎉

Amazing nuggets in the PPE Medpro High Court ruling

The company was incorporated on 12 May 2020 and referred to the Covid "VIP lane" by Michelle Mone *the same day*, despite having no track record in manufacturing PPE

Who could have predicted that anything would go wrong?
