Who wants another lovely found photo to break up the misery and dreariness? You do? Right then. This is a stunner, a corker. In fact I’d go so far as to say an absolute belter… and, I think I’ve worked out who she is.

The Epstein connection vis-a-vis Labour is, in a strange way, larger than Mandelson, because it illuminates the sordid transformation of public service in to a cynical stepping-stone to cushy private sector enrichment which defines New Labour and which they will cling to—with or without Mandelson.

A fucking typical Radio 2 ramble for a Saturday:
1. Josh Widdicombe was an unexpected delight covering Liza Tarbuck's show this evening. Old soul, music depth and quick to embrace the #FOTS.
2. Sophie Ellis-Bextor is sitting in for Gary for an Indie #Sot80s next week. Pre-record all over that.

Two 61 year olds having an existential crisis because neither of us remembers the Mud shitty disco track, or Fallen Angel straight after.

Another day, another new CD - the 45th Anniversary* remaster of Gary Numan's Telekon, the last album of what he calls the 'machine' section of his career.
Honestly, it sounds fresh as a daisy and, more than ever, sits totally outside time. Marvellous!
(*how long? 😲 )

A bit difficult listening to The Damned's new covers album that influenced them getting together, even on my new Denon smoll study hifi after two days of Sly & Robbie, because the production is all over the shop and a bit thin, but it's a diamond in the rough. I can see myself playing it a lot.

Jo Whiley just played the title track and it's a great version of The Korgis classic. 👍
PREORDER: 'Everyone's Gotta Learn Sometime' by Beck

Covers of classics from Daniel Johnston, Hank Williams, The Korgis, John Lennon, Elvis, and Caetano Veloso plus ‘Ramona’ from the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack.

If Aperture had been, for example, LCD Soundsystem rather than Harry Styles, I doubt it would be anywhere near Radio 2's 'A list' or getting daytime play, but I'm glad it is because it's a banger.

Makes you wonder just how dangerously invested the UK is into ai stock and companies if they’re pulling a move this desperate lmao

Remarkable indeed, and the colours are straight from @jcheall.bsky.social's Whitby palette! ❤️👍
Trip to Whitby on Sunday last.

The sea had done its best to remove the sand from West Cliff beach, exposing this remarkable geology…

RIP Sly Dunbar
If you don't own a piece of music that Sly Dunbar played on, there's something missing in your life. RIP.

I lasted ten minutes and had to turn it off. 🙄
I try and keep an open mind when it comes to guests on Desert Island Discs but I honestly don't think I can bear to listen to Badenoch and her music choices this morning.
Straight to The Archers omnibus perhaps?

Fab to hear The Slits followed by Birds Fly (Whisper To A Scream) by The Icicle Works on Radio2. Shaun Keaveny is such a good fit for Saturday early evenings when Liza Tarbuck is off.

Chuffing great stuff - hints of Pop Group, Mark E Smith and Sheffield magic.
A trio from Sheffield, England recently caught my attention via their label, Boston’s @iheartnoise.bandcamp.com

@tinnedmeats.bsky.social’ second album, KILTER, contains a variety of different styles and is hard to pin down. Avant-Jazz meets Post-Punk.
