Fans of One Battle After Another, check out this intriguing video. I was skeptical about the thesis, but eventually won over by the meticulous argument. I don't totally agree with it, but this is a compelling, convincing analysis. youtu.be/PLppYKFJ9B8?...

A bit of self-promotion:
If you’re shopping for a David Lynch or #TwinPeaks fan this holiday season, please consider my books. (A few readers have actually said they’re pretty good!) You can order them for your local bookstore (as well as that other place you all know about).

Colin holding a real-life prop from the original #TwinPeaks -- a One Eyed Jacks poker chip! I purchased this decades ago from the great TP collector/dealer Bruce Phillips, who told me there were probably only 10 to 12 made for the show.
In lieu with going to Canada for the weekend, this is from a couple years back when @thornewip.bsky.social brought one of the poker chips from the season one finale to @texastheatre.bsky.social during The David Lynch Retrospective

In his new memoir, Anthony Hopkins says he tripped during one of the takes of The Elephant Man and that Lynch used it in the final film. I think he means his brief stumble upon entering the room where John Merrick awaits. Check it out at the 1:35 mark: youtu.be/s8AmASlhPdo?...

I was speaking about this book this morning, with no idea a cover and release date had been announced! Without doubt, a day-of-release purchase for me! Hope you'll be on a book tour @markfrost.bsky.social !
Ran across a listing for Mark Frost's next book, The Yankee Sphinx: An FDR Novel. Releases on 5/05/26.

Great shot here. Done with a camera shooting a mirror at the bottom of the pool, rather than using the costly and difficult set-up of putting a camera in the water.

Good for a laugh: Part 8 "fills in all the gaps." (Really? I guess the author got everything he needed from it. If you ask me, he's misreading *a lot* of what happened here.)

The lazy sameness of today’s Fantasy/SF covers. I’ll be happy when this trend ends.

David Foster Wallace was a great admirer of David Lynch, and I believe he found inspiration in #TwinPeaks. Check out Wallace's short story, "Oblivion," which, like Twin Peaks, deals with dreams and unreliable narration. It also contains this not-so-subtle reference:

Back when it aired, and still to this day, it was genius to me. It brought back so much of the weirdness that #Twinpeaks was lacking for a bit. There are so many wonderful scenes in it, starting with the Nadine/Norma/Ed scene which is staged wonderfully. #dianekeaton #dianekeatonRIP #RIP #Davidlynch

Thinking about the importance of "waking" in #TwinPeaks:

Lynch:
1)"One day we wake up and realize [our life] was a dream--and we realize who we truly are."
2) "You die, you have a little time in a dream, and you come back."

Laura: "I saw what is was, and it was so beautiful. I was awake."

Thanks for the kind words! You made my day!
When I was in France last week, I had a birthday - and one brilliant gift was @thornewip.bsky.social's Devious Dreams: reimagining David Lynch's Mulholland Drive. Possibly my favourite Lynch film, explored by my favourite writer on Lynch.
