Betty’s dream comes true! (Well, technically, Diane’s.)

Funniest thing I've read in while. Bravo! I needed that.

Wallace does have praise (but a slight misinterpretation) of FWWM in another essay. I'm not going to argue with him about WAH, however.😬

David Foster Wallace was a great admirer of David Lynch, and I believe he found inspiration in #TwinPeaks. Check out Wallace's short story, "Oblivion," which, like Twin Peaks, deals with dreams and unreliable narration. It also contains this not-so-subtle reference:

Back when it aired, and still to this day, it was genius to me. It brought back so much of the weirdness that #Twinpeaks was lacking for a bit. There are so many wonderful scenes in it, starting with the Nadine/Norma/Ed scene which is staged wonderfully. #dianekeaton #dianekeatonRIP #RIP #Davidlynch

I thought Owl Cave was filmed in Griffith Park, where the 1966 Batcave was filmed. Is this the same place, or am I mixed up (quite possible)?

This sounds fantastic. Congrats!

I had business at sheriff's office in far west Texas a few years ago, and I saw a cardboard standee of Trump in the lobby. At another location we informed a sheriff that a group of folks was coming from Dallas for an event, and he said, "I hope they're not Democrats."

Without digging out my cards, I recall that there a number of Twin Peaks phone cards. Do you have any of the others?

Truly wish I had been there. Maybe if they do it again....

You know, I've got to say, this one made me laugh. (Though you could insert just about any recent news item on that screen, and I'd likely chuckle.)

Pre-ordered my copy from my local independent bookstore about two weeks ago. Looking forward to this one!

Thinking about the importance of "waking" in #TwinPeaks:

Lynch:
1)"One day we wake up and realize [our life] was a dream--and we realize who we truly are."
2) "You die, you have a little time in a dream, and you come back."

Laura: "I saw what is was, and it was so beautiful. I was awake."

And the phrase "going postal" originated in the 80's (due to a slate of mass shootings in post offices).
