Think I’m going to take a little break from here. You’re all a delight of course, well, the ones I follow and interact with, but a post escaped containment, I had a few Nazis to block and I could just *not* be sharing my silly thoughts? Anyway, be back soon, will temporarily deactivate in a while.

Young men more likely to vote Green than Reform. Young men second most progressive group of any demographic. Combined right-wing vote barely bigger than Green vote alone for young men

Since we’ve set the bar for proscribing an organisation so absurdly low, we should start with Tommy Robinson and all his fascist groups and move on to proscribing X and Tesla for facilitating and funding him.

Personally I think the biggest problem facing us today is the lack of civility among university students
The man, who did not give his name, identified himself as a former criminal from Kent who has spent 26 years in prison. “Keir Starmer needs to be assassinated,” he said. “Someone needs to shoot Keir Starmer.”

Sky News says police are "overwhelmed by the numbers". Met coped perfectly well with 2x as many at the pro-Gaza rally, 5x as many at the anti-Brexit march, and 15x as many at London Pride.

They're not overwhelmed by the numbers. They're overwhelmed by the ratio of violent thugs in those numbers.

Last weekend, peaceful protesters, many pensioners, marched against a genocide:

900 arrested.

This weekend, violent racist thugs baying for the overthrow of Parliament storm through central London attacking police and calling for the assassination of the Prime Minister:

9 arrested.
Politics latest: Nine arrested amid 'significant aggression', Met says, after 110,000 'Unite the Kingdom' marchers rally in London
Roughly 110,000 protesters have been in London for a 'Unite the Kingdom' rally and 'March against Fascism' counter-protest. Meanwhile, local parties and trade unions can start choosing between Bridget...

I am having a hard time reconciling "Charlie Kirk was a fierce advocate of open dialogue and free expression" with "we must identify and persecute everyone who is insufficiently mournful"
After Charlie Kirk's death, teachers and professors nationwide fired or disciplined over social media posts
At least a dozen faculty and staff have faced fallout over insensitive comments online.

Absolutely !!!insane!!! to me that the UK government, lobby and newspapers litigate at length every minor infraction by the BBC, rival newspapers, or what some random columnist has posted. But all of them just carry on not even commenting about this media owner. He’s not hiding, he’s telling you!

It’s *just* possible we proscribed the wrong organisation.
A man at Tommy Robinson’s Unite the Kingdom rally in London threatened Keir Starmer, saying he should be “assassinated.”

HOPE not hate said speeches were “extraordinarily extreme” as violence broke out and police faced projectiles.

Good headline. Good article. It’s increasingly difficult to think of any right that Republicans claim that they believe should also apply to their critics.

When I look at this, my first thought is not that they’re uniting the kingdom, strangely.
They are attacking the Police again, at the 'peaceful march'.

Imagine if Pro Palestine supporters did this (they never do), they would all be instantly in jail.

Exactly this. One recurring realisation from my attempts to educate myself about Charlie Kirk is that he would have had no career at all if his supporters’ characterisations of college campuses were even close to accurate.
1) Young conservative activist held many well-attended events on many college campuses debating left-wing arguments

2) Campuses are rigidly orthodox places that don't allow conservative ideas, let alone open debate

These are contradictory! 1 disproves 2!

Reason has gone out the window with this.

Facebook does primarily seem to be site for the gullible nowadays. Must be handy to have got all of the people with the least ability to tell truth from fiction in one place so you can target scams at them.
Someone just sent me a bunch of examples of these. Apparently the site is flooded with them.

There's gotta be a story behind all of these.

Lucky that Kirk’s murderer was a right wing white boy since now we don’t need to learn anything from his death. Them right wing white boys gonna right wing white boy, the little scamps.

Reading the obituary of Lord Lambton after falling down a bit of a Wikipedia hole and very much enjoyed his excuse of how his sex scandal came about because the futility of his job as a junior minister led him to debauchery and gardening.
