My 2nd goldfish was more closely related to Jacques Cousteau than to the 3rd shark I ever saw. One of those fruit flies I heard the other day had sperm 20 times the length of its body. My 1st child's friend's cousin is, genetically, 60% the same as a plum.

Some individuals impact lives like meteorites. You don't need to meet them or know them to be moved by them, to be inspired by them, to be sad when they are gone because they made you happy when they were here.

Later. At this point in time, and for several hours before I can even contemplate consuming the sausage-maybe-not-sausage in front of me, I must read and decipher the complex wording supplied with said product so I might make a truly informed decision. I am aiming for 60:40 certainty, minimum.

I take displeasure, sir, at your assumption non-English consumers are less intelligent than their English counterparts. I can assure you, from great experience, the English can be just as dim as everyone else, if not considerably more so.

True. True. I have seen non-meat plant-based vegetarian burgers with big green leaf logos on the packaging for decades and I just stand there, ears bleeding, searching for help.

Phew. I feel for those who buy meat because they want meat only to find out what they have bought is not meat. Reading words is hard.

Two Steps? A new Yazmin Lacey tune? Great great. But what's that? It heralds a new album? Teal Dreams? So, so, so excited. But. 24th October? How am I supposed to wait that long?

I’m petrified about today’s science news. Genetically modifying crabs to have cheetah genes? This could go sideways fast.

Colossal Biosciences has a new project - and it seems to have press released it only to entertainment outlets rather than science media 🤔

This is where I am. New book in the making. Thousand words a day if I can. They don’t have to be good words.
Sticky note on wood that says ‘Just make it exist first. You can make it good later.’
