Want to change the world? Change the way you shop—starting this weekend!

From 11/28 to 12/2 we’re not shopping at Home Depot, Amazon, or Target bc they supportTrump & his policies.

Instead, let’s shop at small businesses who need our support, enrich our lives and stand with our communities. 👏🏼👏🏼

Oh my god the absolute depravity of this.
🧵This 58-year-old nurse from Maryland is seen being violently dragged along the ground by officials in Ghana.

Trump deported her there.

This abhorrent & disgusting abuse of a woman who saved American lives and cared for injured and ill Americans for 30 years.

All the details below are worse.

Rabbiatu Kuyateh was detained this summer at her annual ICE check-in, her son said. She moved to the D.C. area 30 years ago as she fled civil war in Sierra Leone.

AND most of these companies pay less in taxes than WE do. Socialism in service of capitalism.
The Boston Globe identified the companies in Massachusetts that employ the most SNAP recipients. A key stat: "In Massachusetts, 74% of working-age recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program are employed, half of them full-time."

Arcadia is a perfect play - and quite possibly my favorite of the entire 20th Century.
Very sad news. I loved Arcadia and India Ink - & my husband has always teased me that I might be like the historians in those plays, totally misunderstanding what happened based on the documents left. But Stoppard played beautifully with history & the present, with wonderful characters & wit.
Stoppard’s plays inspired me to choose an English major with a focus on Theatre Studies. It was only much later that I realized how much of my movie-viewing life was enriched by his wit and comprehensive understanding of dramatic structure.

This is an illuminating - and concerning - thread...
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

It's a crime syndicate, not an administration. The Tate brothers, the crypto thieves, the (wealthy) drug dealers - he's not the law-and-order president, he's the bought-and-sold one.
He’s going to fight drug trafficking by pardoning them?

Trump announced “a Full and Complete Pardon” for former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernández, who was found guilty by an American jury last year of conspiring to import cocaine into the US.

Netflix
Ford
Tesla
T-Mobile
Duke Energy
DISH Network
Metlife
Dominion Energy
United States Steel

In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes.

This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

There is nothing Target can do to get me back as a shopper outside of restoring their LGBTQ and DEI policies and investing LARGE SUMS of philanthropic money into queer and BIPOC communities. A billion dollar "revamp" ain't gonna cut it.
Target just needs to fire their board & execs at the top & stop bowing to the loud but minority of bigots in government.

Target still doesn’t get it. They do not get to kick us in the nuts, put lipstick on a pig, then expect us to smile and keep spending. My lifestyle no longer includes shopping at there.
