I understand a reason for identifying oneself that way, I guess? But I have to say, it puts me on my guard every time because then I'm waiting for some bullshit to be spewed about nondysphoric trans people who don't feel a need to transition that way (and more often than not... it comes).

(The exact problem with it is, people use it to gatekeep/divide people into "more trans" and "less trans" by calling people who aren't medically transitioning for w/e reason 'cissexual'. Saying 'if you're not cis you shouldn't have a problem with it' is just another angle of that EXACT same thing.)

Also a lot of people don't actually mean /empathy/ when they demean low empathy people. They mean compassion, which can be a KIND of empathy, but empathy and compassion are NOT synonymous all the time.

Autistic people get a bad rap for universally lacking empathy (some of us do identify as experiencing low empathy - many do not) but the truth is most people do not, on a day to day basis, truly empathize with people who are fundamentally different from them.

ActLikePeopleExpect.exe in my brain, am not always aware I'm doing it, and it's eating up at least 60% of my RAM.
