What Senate Democrats need to understand is that anything other than hardline McConnell-esque obstruction will be read as a capitulation and we won’t listen to any explanations otherwise.

Utrecht light rail planning be like:

> build high-floor light rail
> rebuild your system to low-floor bc it looks nicer in the streetscape
> replace your central axis by a grade-separated tunnel or viaduct you could also operate with high-floor vehicles
> ???
> profit
From the documents I have seen so far they are actually proposing getting rid of the Light-Rail alignment between Centraal and Westraven and completely replacing it with this grade-separated new alignment.

Listened to the radio a lot while we were in LA, because what else is there to do when you're stuck in traffic on 101, and if you want to know what California radio is like, just listen to these ads mixed with some good rock/soul/funk/hip hop and you're about there. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jn8j...

Los Angeles International Airport has the horrible wayfinding of O’Hare and the horrible terminal design of JFK. Best of both worlds.

So many times while going around LA I kept thinking about this or that Pacific Electric line that *used* to run on whichever street I was on at the time and marvel at how we managed to stray so far from God’s light.

Red = 1
Blue = 2
Orange = 3
Yellow = 4
Green = 5
Silver = 6
Purple = 7

Also I’m generally unfond of “O” as a letter designation because of how much it resembles the numeral zero.
I wish they’d switched to numbers; they’ve lettered exits in some stations, and the Better Bus Network revamp means every route has a letter-number combination instead of the ones in DC just getting numbers.

The way several Chicago suburbs fell over themselves in a fit of mass psychosis to try and build a PRT system is fascinating.
