When I saw the story in passing I thought it was the same dumb bit as the army parade, the fig leaf of using Flag Day because it happens to also be his birthday. But no, Trump's birthday as such is now an official commemoration for NPS free admission days.

i think it's useful to look at areas where the *tech* has gotten much better while tech *interactions* have gotten way worse. streaming has gotten worse, google search has gotten worse, digital cameras are leaps better. apple's silicone is so good it's threatening their user upgrade cycle
it’s so weird to look around and realize like, tech and media are materially worse than a decade ago

I really admire the creativity in Trump’s “peace plan”: handing Russia land it never conquered, shrinking Ukraine’s army by 50%, ditching Western military aid, long-range weapons and European security guarantees. Peace? It’s Ukraine signing its own surrender while Moscow pops the champagne.
