So glad I stopped pushing myself to read a work that isn't clicking for me. I tried reading Yoon Ha Lee's "Nine Fox Gambit" again for the third time and am crazy for it now. I knew I would like it, it just wasn't what I was in the mood for the other times I picked it up.

So what counts as fear food for Pennywise? Cause like, if all ot takes is making a noise behind someone and startling them to count as fear. I mean I'm not judging but that cannot be a fulfilling caloric intake for it.

I know so many great people who are doing so much. If you are isolated from people who are trying their best, I can understand feeling like no one's doing anything, but really, you just need to find the people who are trying and try with them — or maybe encourage some new folks to try alongside you.

I had to dnf a book that really leaned into a trope I hate of putting a rival love interest in just enough scenes establishing they're an asshole that way when they get outlandishly abused or mistreated I the reader won't feel bad. But I ALWAYS do because it makes me think the writer fears me.

Fruit peels are sugared and ready to be minced into the Christmas pudding. A thing I hadnt tried until I and started making it yearly on a whim so I have no idea if it tastes right! Also I like to soak the peeled lemon in honey it's(gr8 in tea).
