We have a choice come the next election. The UCP who will be throwing money at everything, golden promises, blaming Ottawa, and proclamations of piety, enough to make the pope look like a cult leader. Or this guy, who's getting my vote.
Two-tier American-style healthcare is not the solution.
Wait times, understaffing, and access issues won't be fixed by forcing people to pay to see a doctor.

Patient came in with sore throat. While waiting for rapid Strep test result we glanced back at the Covid-19 RAT result: positive. Reminder that masking in health care makes sense, if you don’t want everyone in your waiting room to go home sick, your staff to get sick, and physicians to get sick.

Isn't that swell, keeping family doctors in the public system. At least we'll still be able to get diagnosed for treatments we can't afford if we want to get better before dying. The only people who this is good for is investors.

When the CPC suggest how wasteful and corrupt the Federal Liberals are, I always go back to the swamp where they were born, Alberta. I look at the evolution of the CONservatives and see a pattern of incompetence and corruption. Their Federal counterparts would be NO different.
Perhaps Mr Wylie successor as Auditor General can now look at how much public money the GoA coal settlements wasted.

Everytime I see shit like this, I use it as a reference/basis on how I vote federally. The CPC were hatched out of Alberta and we can see the evolution of intentional incompetence and corruption in Alberta, which is how the CPC would run Canada.

I've argued to raise taxes before and crickets. The provincial and federal governments have both lowered taxes and look where we are. Taxes pay for the good stuff, education, healthcare, infrastructure, social programs. For less cost then the privatized version. It's an investment in the future.
One of the only protest signs I ever carried said “raise my taxes”. Here in Alberta, I think we need to build a movement around it. Who’s paying for donuts for the organizing meeting?
And yes 100% we need to be yelling loud and proud- tax people (including me!) and use the money to do the good things that govt is often actually even better and cheaper at delivering!

Time is running out. Either this current government will unload the cost in to tax payer. Or oil will tell the government to delay until the peak crests, then gone.
