A man who wasn't born in the United States, talking shit about other people who weren't born in America. Whiteness is a drug.

I am a "heritage American" by any definition (except indigenous but it doesn't mean that)bbut damn if that phrase doesn't set off my racism radar every time.

What is behind the major campaign against a local supermarket? (Hannafid)

Not defending them, it's just clearly coordinated and why?

If it was labor oriented i might be interested but it it isn't.

There is a major part of American culture that is not stupid racist and also not hyper sensitive about talking about race and can work, live, love, etc together. Its just not visible online.

Also racism is real and structural.

Never! I provided a correction (accepted, uncredited) to the Project Gutenberg Moby Dick so I am nearly immortal.

Still a sub-sub but it shows why we matter.

I expect the mendacity and incompetence, but this is a staggering detail.

It suggests 47's gang planned to bully terrible cases through the courts to assert power. But the truth is likely that they focused exclusively on the public (social) media games.
🚨Judge Xinis finds that, incredibly, Mr. Abrego Garcia was never ordered deported in 2019. She notes that every since this saga began all the way back in March, the government has NEVER been able to produce any evidence that the immigration judge actually issued a removal order.

There is nothing that gives me distaste for humanity as much as dealing with the general public and nothing that restores faith as much as co-workers who handle that shit with grace and purpose. #frontlines #foh #boh

Exaggerated but true.

One thing I like about this place is I can still ❤️ and criticize both sides of a thread of disagreement. A sign that there is some actual dialog and not just shrieking idiocy.

Twitter algorithm change. Less MAGA crap, but much more pure ragebait: horrible cooking vids, made up stories (especially tech related). Maybe my dying engagement flipped a switch.

I dunno, it's almost half funny sometimes.

I don't know who needs to hear this (maybe I do) but if you want to elect anyone born after 1970 ever again, you have to excuse some dumb comments on the internet.

"If everyone who streamed All Hell on Spotify had done so using Tidal instead, we would have received an extra £31,847.38, which would double the amount we made from streaming of the album in this time period. Or if everyone used Apple Music it would have been £12,331 more."

We're half a decade into studies finding that improving airflow in classrooms will reduce disease transmission enormously, and that bleaching surfaces etc. does very little. And yet nothing changes. Waves of flu and colds wash over schools, and the schools pretend it's an act of God.
