It's amazing how so many thousands and thousands of Palestinians "are Hamas" according to Israel - young children, teenagers, doctors, journalists, pet donkeys, all Hamas - and yet Israel can't seem to extinguish the omniscient Hamas

It's almost as if what Israel claims isn't actually true
Instead of honouring our brave Palestinian journalist colleagues including Al Jazeera’s Anas Al-Sharif killed in Gaza, much of the media repeated - nay led - with the Israeli line that they were “terrorists” despite a complete lack of evidence.

We pull apart this tired narrative

Of course AUKUS should be scrapped and ANZUS reviewed. Australia is as likely to be attacked by the USA as defended and UK is also a most undependable partner in a conflict. A policy of armed neutrality and recognition of our geographic reality would be a good start.

J’accuse (Part 2) – The Israel lobby
Readers may recall a piece published here on Pearls and Irritations (J’accuse!... the Jew who accuses his fellow Jews of being antisemites on 23 February, 2025 — in which I wrote about an offensive tweet Mark Leibler (lawyer and leader of AIJAC) posted on X — in which, amongst other things, he described those Jews criticising Israel as “vicious antisemites”.

30 years ago the top income tax rate threshold was $50,000.

Oddly it is now $190,000.

Bizarre. I thought these things are not able to change in 30 years!
