Lapsit Baby Storytime Spotlight: Fall Fun
It feels both weird and wonderful blogging about baby storytime right now, during these days of late stage capitalism. This past week was a whirlwind. The President tried to deploy the National Guard to take over my city; trolls threatened to burn down my library for hosting a queer author event (none showed up and we had a wonderful evening!); and I celebrated the fall season with my Book Babies and their families.

My book chapter, Don't Do More With Less: Sustainable Work as a Management Value, has arrived! This chapter explores my first years as a manager and how I did my best to embrace slow librarianship, push back on overcommitment and vocational awe, and make my department and its work sustainable. 📚📜

Libraries need help
Teachers need help
National Parks need help
Scientists need help
Doctors need help
Democracy needs help
If watching library workers resist leads you to expect us to save you, you're taking away the wrong message.

You should be viewing this as a clear indicator that YOU can and should stand up and push back, too.

We need help, not acclaim.
