I'm not punishing anyone. I'm not telling them what they can't eat. I'm only saying what they spend SNAP on could be limited to more nutritious foods. "SNAP benefits typically cover about 30% of a household's food budget" They are free to spend the other 70% any way they please.

That's what the ultra processed food companies want you to think. There are a LOT of foods that take only minutes to make. We all have microwaves.

I don't agree. There are plenty of minimally processed foods that don't take long. Sandwiches or roll ups are a great example especially if you buy healthier breads/tortillas. Toss a potato in a microwave, 4 minutes. Tuna from a can on a prechopped salad, 2 minutes. Scrambled eggs, pb&j etc.

I don't 'resent the poor' for buying crap food. I would prefer that good food were purchased. IMO there's nothing wrong with restricting what can be bought. The only reason we don't do that is that big monocroppers and all the folks that make money from ultra processed foods want some of that $$$

Two days ago, in USA v Abrego Garcia, the Homeland Sec investigator who "re-opened" Abrego's criminal case on 4/17 turned over to the prosecutor a bunch of documents he'd never seen before. Judge orders atty-only conference Friday on whether they should immediately be turned over to defense.
