If only people didn’t get so wrapped around the axle by the very concept of subjective taste. God forbid we stop acting like filter feeders and actually choose what to consume.
Those look super nice. I’ve heard copper is a bit more difficult to get good casts in than sterling or bronze, so I would be curious how figures turn out.
I learned 3d modeling to go into game design, but that quickly showed itself to be a bad proposition. Now I have a profitable use for my skills, even if it isn’t giving me lots of room to practice my usual artistic modeling and rendering. I need to consciously go and shake the rust off periodically.
As a change of pace, here’s some stuff that I do professionally: Small batch and one-off CAD and manufacture of metal jewelry. I design items from the ground up, print them in burnout resin, and cast them in silver or bronze. I finish the metal piece and set the stones myself. #art#jewelry#blender
Thanks. I designed it starting from measurements of its ammo, and how big the magazines would need to be to carry it. I should write a blogpost tomorrow detailing my thought process. Perhaps about how personal energy shields and battleroid soldiers affect the weapons that get designed.
Here's a design of the assault rifle/grenade launcher from the original #marathon. I've been trying to portray the weapons as less sleek and geometric than the ones in the new game, showing the less refined tech and a focus on power at the expense of practicality.
