When I lived in Redondo Beach, I never had this problem. But since moving to Fresno—farmland life + indoor plants—gnats & little bugs became a whole thing. 😩

At 14k in Book 5. Writing slower due to the amount of research it demands, but still moving forward a chapter at a time.
Some days it’s 200 others 1,000 word. I’m learning to welcome the distractions & just keep going. Every book gets written the same way: word by word.

Long travel day. Delayed flight from Hawaii. We landed in San Diego at 2 a.m. before catching a 6 a.m. connecting flight. No one has slept. My 4-year-old finally passed out.

Hotel worker gave us a cabana for free. We got to talking about my books & he wrote down my series for his wife, who’s an avid reader.

I’m really disappointed in Amazon. I’ve seen them remove reviews for no clear reason, even when authors work so hard to earn them. It feels like the system is stacked against us sometimes, and it’s frustrating to watch our hard-earned progress disappear.

Last night I finished reading @szestavilloauthor.com ‘s The Serpent Woman. Yes, I stayed up to finish. It was well paced, the right amount of mystery for a thriller, main characters you could feel and whether you liked them or not, you could understand.
Definitely recommend. Reading book 3 soon!

I normally stay out of the ocean, but my kids convinced me to get in & it was a lot warmer than I expected.
The hotel pool was warm too, with a slide & everything. It actually has felt really good to not write & just enjoy Thanksgiving week in Hawaii with my family.
