Hey @jaketapper.bsky.social, I'm no expert on cognitive illnesses, but it feels a bit detached from reality for a sitting POTUS to forget that he was in power during an attack on the U.S. Capitol, doesn't it? Do you know anyone in journalism with experience covering dementia-like symptoms?

Stick tap to @janisirwin.bsky.social who posted these responses to the parental teacher strike stipend on her Facebook page.

The government has the money, they just want to break the teacher's union.

When I'm feeling down, I think about the possibility of Poilievre losing in the by-election and I am instantly buoyed. It isn't going to happen (likely) but even the thought makes me laugh out loud.

Ouch. Mark Carney didn’t sugarcoat shifting power bases today: “…if they are not at the table, they will be on the menu.”

A quick and illuminating take on chronic Albertan complaints (spoiler: it’s in our house).
Albertans don't realize it was a construction boom, building the facilities to process the oil-gas and then it all becomes just maintenance and automated. I was here when it was the bush, then the oil patch and now it's named by each facility. Albertans failed to diversify it's economy. #abpoli
Great column
Short read
Worth every Albertans time

"In 2014, the industry hired 128 workers for every million barrels of oil produced. Last year, thanks to self-driving trucks, automated facilities and downsizing, that number halved to just 61."

Yep. Rural Alberta.
Hot take: If you've lived in a small town where you can walk to most things like groceries, coffee, schools and childcare, and even institutions like hospitals, you've basically lived in a 15-minute city.

Honestly if the CPC is stupid enough to keep Poilievre on as leader it’s great from a tactical standpoint as he’s so hated by everyone but the CPC he’ll never be PM.

Downside- he’s so annoying to listen to and most people are sick of him.

🙄 C’mon Battle River-Crowfoot. You deserve better than a loser from Ottawa-Carleton.
In this season of Amazing Race Canada, a one-man team attempts to race from Carleton, Ontario to Battle River-Crowfoot, Alberta, to try to win his job back.

Yeah, democracy is messy.

So Poilievre says no more tents in public spaces, they will be arrested. I guess only big trucks with loud horns are allowed to camp in public places.
