Hi Bluesky

I've just joined. Is there a #WritingCommunity on here?

I'm 50, Aussie, she/her, and a not-yet-published #writer. I'm currently rewriting my first book which is the first in a planned series. Also love #reading, dogs and coffee.

Would love to meet some other #writers, and #readers.
I play this song (My Freedom by Two Steps From Hell) before each writing session to get me in the mood to write.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-y_...

Then I put on a playlist I create from various movie, tv show and video game soundtracks. Music is a huge part of my writing process.
Health issues. I have chronic health issues that fluctuate, and often spend long periods unable to write. I work on maintaining my health as much as possible, but the times when I can't write is something I just need to accept. Unless there is a cure for my illness there is no way to overcome it.
How much my condition fluctuates. Just because I seem OK today doesn't mean I won't be incapacitated tomorrow.

Also, I did yoga before I got sick. It did NOT stop me from getting health problems and chronic pain. Definitely isn't a cure. So annoying when people think yoga will fix everything.

I hadn't hard of him before he died either. I'm not American though.
Not quite. I have a bit of updating to do on my outline, but soon I'll be writing again. I hope!
I want to get back into my writing after I stopped in June due to illness. ✍️

Today I read my WIP so far (about 1/4 of the book). 📖

I was scared to read it and that I'd hate it. Plenty to fix, but I actually enjoyed it and it reminded me why I love this story. 💖

I like to write to film/tv/video game music.

I use the music to brainstorm to, dreaming up story ideas. Then I create a playlist, like my own soundtrack to my story and listen to it as I write and edit.

I find it hard to write with lyrics in the background, so I always use instrumental music.
If it's helpful, it's not procrastination. It's preparation. Some writers gather pictures of what their characters might look like.

In Sims 4 I have created all of the major characters in my WIP and used mods to play out story ideas. Don't know how helpful it is to my writing, but it is fun.
I do this. Actually thought I was being weird. Glad I'm not the only one!
That sucks. It's a horrible feeling when you can't write, isn't it?
I finished it on Tuesday as well. I agree about the plot, but I still really enjoyed it and am looking forward to season 3 too.
Oh, and I have a bunch of new followers while I've been away. Great to meet you all.

I will get into the follow-backs as soon as I can. Sorry for being slow. Been away 'cause I've been sick.

Been away for a while.

I haven't been able to write. Been very sick. I hate that. I'm hoping I'll be well enough to get back into it soon.

Before I can, I need to read through my story so far to refresh my memory. I'm kinda scared to. What if it sucks?

Yes please, Queensland
It's weird. If I did post a comment somewhere, I have no idea what it was now. Oh well.
Wow. I haven't been on here for a couple of days and I've come back to a bunch of new followers.

Hi and welcome!

What happened? Did I get put on someone's follow list? Thanks to whoever it was, if that's the case.

Read this in the latest issue of “Writer’s Digest.” Needed to read her take on writing amidst chaos. Words are healing. The right words reach me exactly when I need them. Words are magic.
I really needed to hear this right now. Thanks for posting this.
#Writing update: ✍️

Novel length: 36,040/120K
Daily word count goal: 1.5k
Words today: 1113

I didn't make my word count goal today. 😢

I haven't felt too well, plus having unexpected things occur. I'm lucky I wrote at all!

Hope I do better tomorrow.

Time for bed! 🥱

Feeling kinda, well, *gestures at everything* 😢

I still need to get my writing done. I need to remind myself that when I read my writing later I've never been able to tell what was written on a good day or a bad day.

So I can still write good words on an off day. ✍️

Wow, getting any words down under those conditions is awesome. You should be chuffed. I mean you could be forgiven for skipping a day or two of writing with that much work on. Well done!
