A US Drug Enforcement Administration agent said the DEA made “high-level arrests” of 171 Sinaloa Cartel members across New England in August.

A Globe investigation found that many of the DEA’s targets were addicts, low-level dealers, shoplifters, and homeless people.
The DEA said they arrested 171 ‘high ranking’ Sinaloa Cartel members. A Spotlight investigation found that’s not true. - The Boston Globe
A Globe investigation found that the federal agency misrepresented the stature of its targets, claiming cartel ties at a time when the Trump administration is taking lethal military action against such groups.

In case the press sanewashes this insane #Trump speech, let the record show that he is currently rambling to our military leaders about the autopen and the "big beautiful firm paper" he uses. "I love my signature," he adds.

Pinochet was ousted with a referendum.

And the US isn't exactly dealing with the smartest, most competent fascists.

Those of you insisting that 2025 is forever need to read a book, touch grass, go to therapy, anything other than trying to make others quit.

I'm so glad that Elizabeth Warren is my Senator. Thank you @warren.senate.gov!
ELIZABETH WARREN: What Zohran is saying is 'I want people to be able to afford to live in NYC'

FABER: But raising taxes in order to do it?

WARREN: Oh my goodness! Oh dear! Are you worried that billionaires are going to go hungry?

Happy Fourth of July! Read the Declaration of Independence. No Kings!
Rep. @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social, during his nearly-six-hour-long speech on the House floor (which is still going) opposing Trump's Medicaid-cutting-deficit-busting-billionaires-enriching tax-and-spending mega-bill, just suggested people should read the grievances. Well, we did that for you.
NEW: In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson listed 27 grievances to prove that King George III was a tyrant. We looked at how many of those now apply to Donald Trump. Have a good Fourth of July and pass this on.

I got permission to share this, and I'm extremely grateful for that.

The Onion got this letter from one of our subscribers in Alaska. She works with dementia patients and decided to leave a copy in the car for each one.

This email made my year. Read it and you'll see what I mean. People are good.

I asked ICE where the “413% increase in assaults” justification for its officers using masks came from. They didn’t answer. So I dug into it, and what I found … did not boost their argument.

ICE officials keep touting a 413 percent increase in assaults on officers to justify officers masking their identities.

900% increase in ICE budget proposal from the GOP. Going from $9 billion to $90 billion.

$45 BILLION for detention facilities alone.

But they’re cutting school lunches.

Republican budget horror:
So House Republicans voted on a budget tonight that would cut ~$800B+ from Medicaid. Among other things, but it’s important to understand how much that will hurt every single one of us. (Spoiler: they know all of this - but they hate you.)

It could be called the Congress of the United States.

Happy MLK Jr. Day, my friends. In 1968, Dr. King spoke the following words, which are equally true today:

"The nation is sick. Trouble is in the land; confusion all around.... But I know, somehow, that only when it is dark enough, can you see the stars."

We must find & feed the points of light.
