Cool visualization!

I wonder where e-bikes would be on the graph?

Wait, so $400k annualized equivalent salary?

What a total failure of governance. The board of that charity should be ashamed. Notably, they are not named or listed on the I am Hope Foundation website, but these are the trustees, per the Charity Services website
Officers of the I am Hope Foundation, as per official Charities Services webpage: Roger Hatrick-Smith, Carlyn Topp, Ronnie Moore, Troy Jonathan Elliot and Anita Yugovich.

Figuratively and literally a dirt bag - quickly becoming my favorite Mariner

It's very good, isn't it. "...a world that never was and never could be" is such a clear and cutting synthesis of the weird conflation of untethered idealism and rose-coloured-glasses nostalgia that is stymying any, ANY, movement towards creating a better present or future.

That was definitely it, right? Not a real injury, per se, just the weight of the dumper being taken on the wrong body part

Sorry, I haven't read the whole report, just enough to understand the attention grabbing, and deceptive, lede.

Argentinian soy oil probably driving land use change emissions?

US trend - not sure. I tend to not pay too much attention to projections, too often based on bad assumptions.

The report discusses the policy landscape and how leading markets are clamping down on palm.

The problems with lumping all biofuel together into one grand average:

you miss just how bad palm is!

you miss that in most non-palm-using places biofuel actually does reduce emissions!
Table from the report, showing how worse-than-fossil impacts are driven primarily by palm-oil based fuel from Indonesia and Thailand, whereas 6 of the 9 case-study markets have an average mix of biofuels that is better than fossil fuel emissions.

Yep, absolutely the norm now sadly, but I bet that unless you've got a teenage daughter you wouldn't even know it.

That article is mild compared to the things our family have seen and experienced.

80 reposts so far, and I wonder if any of them read the paper and realized that the punch line is based on an average that so skews the analysis as to present a deceitful distortion of the true situation?

What is the punchline if you exclude the outlier: (almost universally decried) SE Asian palm?

Ouch. At home too? That hurts

Okay, I'm outside the venue in my car. Can the Mariners just score so I can get on with my life?

Pretty thirsty to have not just a DUMP 61 HERE shirt, but to have a DUMP 62 HERE shirt on under. I wonder how deep that stack of shirts is, and how skinny the man underneath is.

Oh jeepers here I was thinking this was a post about Aotearoa New Zealand

It truly is the government of landlords and used car dealers because anyone familiar with either of these occupations knows that they are the last bastions of men who, for no reason but their own sloven incompetence, seek out imagined excuse to violate basic contract law and routine regulations.

Not to discount the enormous damage they have done, and still can do, but this really might be one of the dumbest governments in the history of the world.
