Taught enough to know the basics but not taught enough to thrive as we should. Some will never break the cycle while others will. I urge you to learn all you can through the very books they want you to forget about. Books hold power, they just rather you never know that.

America revised its own history to make itself look better and fed that water down history to its children who then grow up to be adults and the cycle continues. People don’t look outside what school taught them because they felt it was already taught to them. We naively follow their lead.

America I believe purposefully undereducates us so we are too ignorant to use the knowledge we were taught against the system. Knowledge is power. Just like how they didn’t want slaves to know how to read or write they don’t want us to know too much because we can turn against them.

Also this system is built to benefit them if they admit racism exist then that means admitting the flaws in the very system that gives them privilege. It’s easier to pretend it doesn’t exist to protect white comfort. It’s like “Yeah that sucks for you but I’m doing fine”

They don’t know the pain of racism because they don’t face it. It’s like a having a toothache, you take meds and the pain goes away. When you have no pain you don’t think about it. They don’t think about racism because they never had to do when they’re faced with it they’re defensive

A hard shift like that doesn’t come overnight she likely already had these views deep down but she came across the people who brought it out of here. Sometimes it’s hard to see someone for who they are not when we wanted them to be.

I love it. I actually really do. I want to incorporate some of these inspiration in my art especially queer and overall LGBTQ+ my brother came out and I want to draw him something to show my support.

My favorite aspect of the Columbus legend is him getting rejected by the Portuguese gets spun as them not recognizing the genius of his idea. No - he went into a roomful of expert navigators and made basic math mistakes, they thought he was a moron, and they wouldn't fund his idea on that basis.

Is the religion of our ancestors a curse we shouldn’t speak of because God doesn’t approve or does the white man not approve. They didn’t want us to have our own culture, country, food, etc so what makes you think they want us to have our own religion or connection with a God or Gods?

Ever notice how everything Black people did spiritually pre colonization is now “witchcraft” or “demonic” ? Funny how a colonizer religion effectively changed and erased ours. Years of brainwashing so bad we don’t question it. Is it really demonic because of God or did they simply state it was?

Even when no one believes you believe in yourself, the truth will reveal itself one day even if it isn’t from your own lips. Don’t be the fall guy for the abuse, save yourself as soon as you’re able. Protect your heart. Protect yourself. Don’t break. Stand strong. Stand tall. We will be ok.

Forgiving your abuser is for you but dealing with them is not something you have to do. Don’t make excuses for them. Don’t beat yourself up. You did nothing wrong the villain just hates his own reflection and he deflects by making you the bad guy. The hero of this story is you, not them.

Every time you question the victim the villain succeeds and becomes bolder on their abuse, they hurt more people in their wake while the victims cries fall on deaf ears. As a kid I spoke of this abuse and was shut down. Taught to cope. Told to pray for better days. Betters days never came.

Seen my dad attack my brother and a family member said that was my brother getting taught a lesson with a whoopin. He put his whole body weight on him, the next time he tried to punch him but yeah teaching a lesson ok.

Victims of abuse don’t come out because people don’t believe them when they do. They scrutinize the abuse itself, if it isn’t physical it won’t abuse or if it was then they somehow justify it all.
