We had a great response to our call with @stratforddc.bsky.social to bring e-waste to the Climate Hub. This was all collected this morning, so if you still have small items old tech to recycle please put them in a carrier back on top of, or by the side of, your bins on your normal collection day.

Small electrical items can be left in a carrier bag and on the top of, or by the side, of your bin on your scheduled dry recycling, garden waste or non-recyclable waste collection day. Items must be small enough to fit in the designated compartment beneath the refuse collection vehicle. Please do not put any electrical equipment inside any of your bins. Examples of what you can recycle: Phones, tablets, laptops & calculators; radios and small games consoles, small kitchen appliances; small electrical toys; smoke detectors & thermostats. She will be there to give information about help with fuel bills, grants
and funding for energy efficiency measures.
Do you have an RTS meter? It stands for “Radio Teleswitching Service”
If you have one of these meters, it’s going to be turned off soon. If you don’t
do anything before 30 th June 2025, then you will automatically be put onto a
standard electricity tariff. This means that you’ll lose your cheaper night rate
for electricity, and, instead, be charged your day rate at all times. This could
mean that your night rate will double, or even triple. If you aren’t sure if this
applies to you, drop into the Climate Hub on 17 th April.
Have a question about RTS meters or anything else about energy
efficiency? Talk to Sian of Act on Energy on 17 th April and be
entered into a free prize draw!
