It's been 38 years and I only found out last night that apparently ALL of the 60's-70's Rankin Bass stop motion specials were animated in Japan.
It is continuing to blow my damn mind!

A substantial part of Japanese animation in the west pre-Anime blowing up was American companies outsourcing, much of what we consider the golden era of 80s-90s cartoons was done by companies like TMS and Toei. The Little Drummer Boy and Rudolph are no different. It was Anime all along.

I’m halfway through the first volume now. I’m puzzled as to how the powerscaling agenda people on Twitter and tiktok haven’t gotten to exploiting Saint Seiya. It’s the most explicit I’ve seen a Jump manga give American comic esque feats. They’re regularly talking about mach speed punches.
I’m only like 45 pages into Saint Seiya and Oh My God, Tite Kubo took this manga’s whole flow for Bleach
