In the wake of Bailey McCourt’s tragic femicide in Kelowna, SOAR co-founders met with MP Stephen Fuhr to call for urgent legal reform.

We’ve now followed up with a letter to Justice Minister Sean Fraser calling for immediate action.

✅ True! Brain injuries are common among survivors of #IntimatePartnerViolence (up to 92% of all IPV cases) because the head, face, & neck are areas most likely to be injured in an assault.

Dr. Theresa Tam nails it when it comes to public health and the importance of prevention: it’s not a budget line, it’s an investment. Prevention is cost effective, supports health and wellbeing, and reduces costs on the health system and the workforce.
