In a normal company with operational laws, probably yes

On Monday the Federal Circuit heard cases at Suffolk and I got the opportunity to sit in. It was amazing and it made me wish that everyone got such an opportunity to see what courts (who aren't Judge Judy) and lawyers (who aren't on Suits) do.

Thank you to @lexlanham.bsky.social for hosting an incredible CLICWIP conference on Friday and Saturday! I had a great time catching up with everyone and hearing about a variety of awesome projects in the works!

Yes it's a public performance of the music so they need to pay, covered by the stadiums license and then also the TV station broadcast rights

A great thing about Boston is that sometimes you have to go to the bank and you happen to be in line behind someone cosplaying Paul Revere.

Today I said to my dog, "I need you to move with a little more urgency, buddy."

And then I realized that probably the lesson I'm supposed to be learning from him is sometimes, we should just take a breath and a leisurely walk, instead of rushing so fast we miss everything.

Who do I petition to get a rule, no scrolling of tiktok with sound on while on a commuter train?

Working my way through the Benjamin Stevenson murder mysteries, starts with Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone. Kind of Knives Out in tone, so not as heavy as that sounds.

I have no children so I experience the world through my sisters' kids, and the oldest, my nephew, just started high school last week, and I have never felt so ancient. No lockers, no homeroom, no books. It's wild how much things have changed.

I am a reluctant editor, I just hate to do it. Don't mind the drafting, hate the editing. But always if I'm going to have a successful editing session, the key is to print it out and edit it by scrawling all over the papers. To me, it's so much easier to fix things on paper than on a screen.

My phone: You are out of space!!!!

Me: What do I have on this phone taking up so much space????

Literally every entity I interact with: HAVE YOU DOWNLOADED OUR APP?!?!!?!?!?

this is really interesting and I'm not sure I've yet thought through all the implications of these covers (vs the "fanfic" they're promoting and its implications as well, which are two different things)

Really frustrating that Microsoft has no idea how to cope with the idea that I might want to check my *work* email BUT ALSO be logged in to my *personal* version of Word. Like, tech companies increasingly shape the world as if all we do all the time as humans must be work...

A thing that always stands out to me when reading some statutes is how often those statutes were drafted assuming that the only people important to the statute were going to be men. Like assuming that government offices will always be held by men (like the "President's widow" bit of the Lanham Act)

Just found out this happened to another unit in my building. The only way they got Zillow to respond and fix the error was by sending a letter threatening to file a lawsuit. Which honestly was what I said as soon as I saw the listing go up wrong. "We're going to have to threaten to sue." Sigh sigh

I am trying to sell my condo. My MLS listing has the correct address and zip code. For some reason Zillow is showing a completely different zip code and a map that puts my condo in a completely different location. Zillow won't answer their phone, of course. So now my condo is just lost. Sigh.

Stopped in at the location next to South Station for a chocolate rose on my way to work this morning and learned: Tatte rhymes with "latte."

I have been wondering about the answer to this question for years. #boston

(also, when that is your algorithm, the number of food safety issues quickly becomes overwhelming, it's all a lot)

I am teaching Food Law this semester so my algorithm sends me all of the FDA food warnings and this one is certainly one that stopped me in my tracks.

Have achieved the professorial stage where I have increased the font size of my lecture notes so as to avoid having to pull out reading glasses every time I want to glance at them.

I am fighting a head cold and I just wanted to watch the Red Sox game and I turned on NESN and it's playing fishing and I had to Google for ten minutes to figure out apparently the game is on Roku which I don't have and cannot tackle right now and why, baseball, why do this to your fan base sigh
