“Alternate reality” seems to be an accurate description of the entire administration

Mamdani: "I just want to speak directly to the president. I will not be a mayor like Mayor Adams who will call you to stay out of jail. I won't be a disgraced governor like Andrew Cuomo who will call you to ask how to win this election. I can do those things on my own."

Also a reminder these weren’t “Kids”! Some of these “Young Republicans,” which includes ages up to 40, were elected officials or government appointees.

Maybe Mike meant "stood on" Capitol Police?

This is the same Speaker who has repeatedly refused to put up the congressionally-mandated plaque honoring the Capitol Police members who were viciously assaulted by MAGA goons on January 6th.

We've seen your deeds, you oily liar.

Would seem to me that a Congressman beating his girlfriend and having a judge order a restraining order against him is "really serious..."
atrupar.com
Q: This has been reported for a while. Cory Mills was accused of beating a girlfriend in his DC apt. Are you concerned about these allegations?

JOHNSON: You have to ask Rep. Mills about that. He's been a faithful colleague. I don't know the details. Let's talk about things that are really serious

Topics Mike Johnson thinks are serious:

- Super Bowl halftime entertainer
- getting a Nobel Prize for Trump
- terrifying naked bike riders

Topics he thinks are not serious:

- Epstein Files
- domestic violence
- being able to keep the govt open
- the neutering of Congress

My memory is quite the opposite. “No kings” has actually worked out really well for the American economy for centuries.

It’s the arrival of a would-be king that has shut everything down.

Seems pointless. After the regime has moved on, the patio / golden trimmings will come down and it will be as if it didn’t happen

I think they lost interest once they found out the identity / political leanings of the shooter

Yep, Dear Leader views everything from a single lens (how it helps/hurts his pocket book).

As long as he gets to golf on the taxpayers dime, all good (for him)

NEW — I dug into the story of ICE abducting a 13-year-old boy in Massachusetts and moving him 500 miles across state lines without notifying his mother, local cop's complicity, and how the federal government's justification for such cruelty is already falling apart:
ICE took a 13-year-old they said had a gun. Local cops say he didn’t.
Now he's detained 500 miles away from his Massachusetts home.

I was… more than a year old… hehehe

I remember reading somewhere it was relatively recent but had to google it to find the year.

Hanging in there (like everyone 😬)

Maybe I’ll post more music stuff tonight 😃

How can leagues report losses & still have big valuations? How is the WNBA ownership model affecting CBA negotiations? What are fair salaries for W players, and why is revenue share so important?

Economics professor @wagesofwins.bsky.social breaks it all down.

The freedom to credit cards is only became possible in 1974, very recent (relatively speaking).

People have short memories 🤷🏻‍♂️

Exactly. They forget that while Dear Leader has total immunity (5th avenue or elsewhere), they do not.

As many have said before, saying “he made me do it” is not going to fly… (where have we seen this before… sarcasm emoji)

COLLINS: The Dept of Energy just canceled $1b for a hydrogen hub that covers Montana. Is that taking away good-paying jobs?

SHEEHY: Of course it is. We want govt to be open

C: But the Energy Secretary says he would've pulled that funding even if govt was open

S: ... Well, that's unfortunate

Farmers grow what they grow because of farm policy.

We don’t need all the soy and corn that we grow, but those are the commodities that receive subsidies and markets.

If we want something better, if we want to heal the Earth and grow food, now is the time to do it.

Trump confirms he was a partner in Israel’s genocide:

“Netanyahu would call me so many times asking for weapons I never heard of. But we got them didn’t we? You used them very well.”

In fact they were used so well, as of October 7, 67,173 civilians were killed, of which 20,179 were children.

This reminds me a bit of the book about David Petraeus by Paula Broadwell. I remember reading the book and thinking "wow, she really paints a flattering picture of him".

Then the news breaks in 2012 and I go "now, things make more sense!"
