Stede's cravat, that we saw peeps of and wondered if Ed was still wearing. My theory was that once it went on, it never came off. Someone did a whole video about it. And here it is, actually part of the costume. Amazing.

And yes Rhys is being very cute! They are trying to lean into the Hoff being grumpy vs Rhys's infectious enthusiasm, but the odious Hoff really does look like he's mostly phoning it in while Rhys does all the work. It is worth it because, as I say Rhysie is being VERY cute. Also lovely travel show.

Rhys Darby dressed as Stede in early season two, his jeans and boots covered in dried mud, sitting on a chair during Our Flag Means Death filming, in a tent. He has a big rain coat wrapped around his shoulders (but open so you can see what he's wearing including the sand coloured shirt with the lacing that starts mid chest, showing some chest hair) and he's cradling a hot water bottle with an orange cat on the cover. On the surface yes, of course. But why the production choice of the long salt n pepper wig and the leather with arm on display (after Ed's just chucked his)? Both of less quality than Ed's of course. It's a very quick subtle, flare of a thing, but I appreciate it when I see it.

To the Aussie Rhys Darby Faction: SBS Viceland is showing Hof Roading. The 1st was last night. Couldn't see it myself, (I'm having a week). I will catch up on demand on the weekend. Am dreading it somewhat, but also looking forward to Rhys being cute.

first day as a freelance knight ed goes to the nearest horse market because having a horse is sort of expected. he has never ridden before but figures that he's probably good at it. also, he can talk to animals, which might be a help. unfortunately his new horse is a stubborn, rotten bastard

That’s huge but to me this is the chart that is even more consequential. Because a strong opening isn’t a guarantee of continued interest. But by the second season everyone knew what was what and it still was THIRD most in demand. This is when they cancelled it.
