Storm Byron is worsening the already dire living conditions of thousands of people living in tents or damaged shelters.
While #UNRWAworks to support displaced families, the Israeli Authorities have been blocking UNRWA from directly bringing aid into #Gaza for months.
Aid must be allowed in at scale.

Here's an idea: don't use violence to justify even greater violence.

Why is the far right triumphing across the West?

Because ordinary citizens are told they're trapped in a zero-sum game - competing with migrants for scarce resources.

This is a lie.

A failed economic order is to blame:

Since 2008, struggling communities have been told they are in competition with migrants. Only a model that gives them hope will halt the populists, says Guardian columnist Owen Jones

It's really interesting what is 'unaffordable' and what is 'essential'.

And it seems if it's going to a really rich person it is always affordable.

And if it isn't, it is always too expensive.

I will just point out the Doctors have asked for a maximum of £800m, that's for 71,000 doctors who run all the hospitals.

That's 'too expensive'.

But when the Water Companies asked for £5bn, they were given it.

The poorest 20% Britons pay higher proportion of income in taxes than the richest 20%.

The bottom 50% of the population owns less than 5% of wealth, bottom 20% has 0.5%.

Can't reduce child/household poverty and relieve suffering without equitable distribution of income/wealth.
To tackle child poverty the government must deal with parental poverty
Labour's child poverty strategy offers some welcome measures, but it won't address the factors keeping families trapped in poverty

Point 2: Obviously Israel's genocidal atrocities must continue to be opposed, and will continue to be opposed.

Today the worst people in the world are trying to pretend Point 1 and Point 2 are contradictory.
