The biggest problem with the first game was how much combat it makes you do. The third replaced most combat with tomb puzzles. Absolute 10/10 game.

I kinda get the saving people in the canvas argument, the problem is that verso bit. If she wants to risk her life in a canvas and keep everyone in there alive, sure, go for it. But bringing another verso in when he BEGGED her to let him die? Fucked up.
