I f***ing hate that half the cat videos online are AI.
This is not only disheartening but also dangerous because some of these videos aren't "funny" videos, but videos of cats being or putting themselves in danger without someone intervening or helping out.

First and foremost, alt text must always be informative and descriptive of the content in the image. It can have character and humor, but it still needs to be informative and descriptive. Alt text is not a place to add easter eggs or jokes for sighted users.

Photo of text: Memories are relics of something past, but they are also evidence of the "thing" that set them there — the fundamental curatorial process that selected that particular portion of an event as an artefact to be set within the museum of the memory. Some artifacts of memory seem to have been selected at random; sometimes we know why such an image, idea, situation has stayed in our memory, while others have been forgotten. The artifacts of our memory often say more about the curatorial "character" that selected them than they do about the original event itself. Memory leads one into a dialogue with the curatorial fundamentals of the mind — the selection comitee of the unconscious — the deep programme of the mind. Memories are the consequences of the actions of this curatorial comittee that operates behind closed doors. In a sense, what we remember provides us with the material "trappings" the "taste" and "character" and therefore an indication as to the traits and possibly the rules and principles of the selectiob processes. In short, memory provides us with a key to understanding something about the deeper qualities of the mind, particularly those qualities that shape the personality.

I often get the feeling a lot of folks view political philosophies purely as intellectual utopias and not something that's possible to engage with here and now — that's in movement. Something that can be lived by example, something that can be pioneered and engineered.

I appreciate when my body is finally recovered enough from the latest crash #MECFS and I start to gain back the minimal capacity to just half-sit in bed and read, instead of doom-scrolling and posting.

Barely cosy, any bodily need and responsibilities are still derailing, exertive, and disruptive.

I've read 800% more books this year than the previous ten years combined (I remember reading ~5 books fully). This year I read more than 40 (ngl some were Artbooks with a lot of images, but I made that up by reading at least 3 books worth of Zines).

Reading is class, actually! Always carry a book!

Gerade in einem Buch von 1989 zum "chronischen Erschöpfungssyndrom" gelesen: dieser Name sei so passend wie "chronisches Hinksyndrom" für Polio-Langzeitfolgen.
Anderswo: Die Bezeichnung "CFS" könnte mit gleicher Berechtigung für MS verwendet werden, die ebenfalls mit chron. Fatigue einhergeht

Mugwort

Text shortened (due to limited ALT Text capacity): Mugwort appears most notably in the Anglo-Saxon "Nine Herbs Charm" […] The Choice of mugwort as the first herb named in this charm, as well as calling it "oldest of herbs", strongly suggests an awareness of this plant as an herb of unusual might. […] If true, this reading makes mugwort not only an exeptionally mighty plant, but also lends support to the suggestion that the Germanic peoples understood herbs as wights in their own right. […] The belief in carrying mugwort as an amulet against travel-weariness is old and widespread […] From this use, modern practitioners have tried mugwort for spirit-farings, spae-working, and other means of gazing into the otherworld, and found it very useful. It is usually burned for this purpose, but can be made into a draught and a leaf or two is enough; mugwort is not really poisonous but one should avoid taking too much of any artemesia at a time, and avoid ingesting it at all if there is any chance of pregnancy. If you have nosy housemates, be aware that burning mugwort smells a lot like burning hemp flowers. Norwegian folklore held that one gain two men's strength by smearing one's arms and elbows with mugwort root.
