Watching HGTV and I think it's weird that the tyranny of THE ISLAND has caused people to give up kitchen tables-- often even if they have no other dining space. I have space for neither in my galley kitchen, but I think kitchen tables > islands a lot of the time!

Anyone who says “be normal” betrays that they have an implicit value system of who is considered normal and who is not, and when you have that, you will always value some people and traits over another. They will always replicate hierarchies of power in the long run.

Reading this thread really makes me more than concerned for entertainment going forward, because no matter what scenario, it all leads to a lesser experience going forward for everyone else that aren’t the big whigs in charge of these prolific studios…
