I like to go for the pulpy style. In the past, I've made my own covers using Canva.

Howard Pyle's illustrations are one of my favourite "go-tos" for pirate art (public domain). I'll often find one of those that looks good.

@transactualuk.bsky.social have released a tool you can use to ask your MP to tell government to scrap the bathroom ban and demand any new Code of Practice ensures providers can lawfully include trans people in their services.

The two types of writers:

- I have created a cast of multilayered characters, and a deep, rich and storied setting. I have no idea what to do with any of it.

- I have created a weaving narrative of twists and turns, betrayals and intrigue. Each character can be summarised in one word.

The story involves them getting shipwrecked on a private island and searching for an escape route.

#PlotTober Well, the most obvious antagonist is Sir Beckford Drax, who owns the sugar plantation on Crab Island.

But Captain Bristol also becomes an antagonist as his violence becomes increasingly indiscriminate.

#AwesomeCharacters Kestrel and Scar are contrasts in that regard.

Kestrel's spontaneous and tends to improvise. Scar prefers to have a plan (and will often shake his head in disapproval until Kestrel comes up with one).

I'm mostly a pantser, but when I was ghostwriting I would outline. On Upwork, I was specifically asked to provide a chapter breakdown (which I got paid for). I carried that over to Fiverr, but made it a complimentary service (charged a higher rate).

Discord has said that 70,000 UK Government issued User IDs have been compromised, 57 days after the law went into force.

Under 2 months.

The thing they said would "keep kids safe" online has now exposed those very same kids full identities to hackers.

Discord is not to blame. It's a case of when, not if, any company gets hacked.

The blame lies squarely with the UK government.
