Aan de vorige politicus die het Binnenhof wilde renoveren, hebben we een demissionair rompkabinet met steun van 26 zetels en een ambtenaar als premier te danken. Laten we eens becijferen wat daarvan de kosten zijn voor de Nederlandse welvaart.

De geniale breinen die in 2012 vonden dat de Tweede Kamer zelf wel kon formeren zonder het staatshoofd, hebben denk ik onderschat dat wat de waarde van decorum is. Wat een bende is het sindsdien.

Dat buitenlandse media soms uit onwetendheid vragen “Wie heeft de verkiezingen in Nederland gewonnen?”, kan ik nog begrijpen. Maar aan dit soort berichtgeving in eigen land zal ik nooit wennen. Dus goed dat collega’s als @tomlouwerse.nl en @hakhverdian.bsky.social daar aandacht aan blijven schenken.

We zien het eindeloos herhalen van dit soort rechtse frames, terwijl de journalisten zelf prima weten dat het onzin is.
Wat is de reporter van Nieuwsuur hier nu aan het doen? Nieuws verzamelen of een beetje de Privé spelen: een ruzietje opstoken, een quote halen waar je dan weer mee naar Yesilgoz kan? Iemand van de tv nog geïnteresseerd in het landsbestuur/ landsbelang, nee hè?

We zien het eindeloos herhalen van dit soort rechtse frames, terwijl de journalisten zelf prima weten dat het onzin is.
Blijft irritant dat ze dit gedrag gewoon kan volhouden tegenover de directeur van de NS. Denk dat dit toch echt moeilijker is als ons staatshoofd weer gewoon onderdeel is van de formatie. Het huidige formatieproces is toch een soort zelfscankassa.
