If you're uncomfortable with mutual aid requests, but want to help locally with bridging the SNAP garbage so people can eat, donate $$ to a food shelf. Food shelves can do things with cash like get food for less than retail prices, and get perishables, that they can't rely on donations for.

If you have food insecurity, this is something worth looking into. A feast for 10 could be 2 weeks of food for 1-2 people.
afaik it isn't confirmed that SNAP is getting cut in november but there has been news of the potential due to the gov. shutdown. if u or loved ones rely on snap, i implore you to take advantage of programs like this!! local food pantries & soup kitchens too!!

listen i get that a lot of y'all white/non-black game designers think "Hoodoo/Voodoo Daddy" is a scary fun concept that can be throw into your games

I second this. And I'm here to talk about my experiences and listen to yours.
I'm a mental health paraprofessional for my part time day job. Too many younger queers ill-prepared for what's at hand. (Gen & a half of people learned "it gets better".) We olds spent too much talking big symbolic points (not to say they're unimportant) and not enough time talking nuts & bolts.
I know this just be an especially terrifying time for younger queers. Please reach out to those of us in our 40s and 50s who lived through the days of attempted gay panic defenses and pickup drags. Lots of us are here for you to help share our experiences and survival with you.

With my ongoing projects happening, there is another I have had to put a pause with for the time. But I intend to return to at some point next year. That is my mesoamerican historical fashion studies. My goal is to eventually make a book. I will make a thread here of the ones I have done thus far.

The thing I'm learning about illumination is that I have the understanding of color theory down, but the writing and drawing skills are where I struggle. I just spent 15 minutes drawing red and black lines very close together. And my hand is sore but I think I see progress
