I don't know what good anti-trafficking measures are when you can scale this up for under $10k, hook up some telemetry to it, and sail drugs right into the US. You could probably even use some kind of dead reckoning to get in the ballpark to maintain radio silence as needed.

Why not cut out the middle man and replace the boss with a ceremonial chatbot that we ignore?

I think this also has to do with how executives are "big picture" people, who don't fuss over details. So maybe they care less about the issues with AI making up shit, because it doesn't have as much impact for them? While the lower ranks are expected to get the details right?
