Tonight at 10 PM ET, NBC’s medical drama Brilliant Minds will feature @iamals.bsky.social ambassador Eric Dane as a firefighter newly diagnosed with ALS. It’s the first time a major network show has portrayed ALS with this level of depth and accuracy.

I'm old.

If you're not, listen to this.

Get a guitar or some drums, or a trumpet. Pick up a brush, a pencil, some clay or a welder.

Just make shit. It doesn't have to be good (eventually it will be) just make music, art or write or whatever.

It's literally never been more important.

Not to mention that school and library sales are a HUGE portion of all authors' sales. So they get the sale that you personally didn't pay for, your neighbor gets better access to books, and your unhoused pal has a place to sit WE ALL WIN

If you want literature to exist you have to support it and that doesn't always mean you, personally, will pay. The more we USE our libraries the better they can justify their funding, and the more people they can serve.

By stealing instead, you're cheating your neighbors AND the artists. Dick.

Emmanuel, a 15-year-old with intellectual disabilities, wandered away from his mom’s fruit stand in October.

She reported him missing to Houston police. But instead of reuniting them, the city turned him over to ICE.

“They’re failing all of us,” his mom said.

If you're buying gifts for the holidays, maybe consider supporting artists, writers, creators. Gift someone a Patreon, commission an art piece, buy a book, purchase handmade jewelry, etc. Your support means everything.

Spent some time doing this yesterday. If you don't want your emails used to teach Google's AI, I suggest turning off "smart features" and then trying this.
Okay, so you're in your gmail, and you have a bazillion emails in your main inbox due to turning off smart features. What's the easiest way to go through them? Well you could go page by page.

Or...If you know specific companies send a lot of emails, there's a quick trick.
For my laptop, while I do have a good amount of free space to partition/separate to try out Linux, I should also make sure I don't have unnecessary files and games taking up space.

And for email. (stares at tab showing the number 58,287) I uh. Don't think I need to import EVERYTHING.
