Hey @altusps.bsky.social why does the usps website say the self service kiosk in Tukwila Station is open 24 hours if the staff locks the lobby when they go home?

AWS outages are interesting because each time it affects more and more disparate things, each is a snapshot scan of the metastatic cancer infecting the internet.
One pole is fast and loose. The other pole is "I wrote you this report on test coverage for step 1.2.3. Should I go on?"
I've been using kilocode backed by claude code using "orchestrator mode" which keeps one context for overall and a fresh one for each subtask. It is easier to get a system that remembers to do unit tests (and test them) that way.

It's still hard to tune "exactly how pedantic" I want it to be.
Out of the AWS frying pan, into the Google fire?

AWS incident is why decentralization is more important than ever.

Too much power. Too much concentration risk for humanity.

Decentralize everything.

Everything everything.

Everything.
Break out Locke's *first* treatise on Government. We aren't commanded to obey Daddy only, but Mommy too! G-d commands pluralism!
OTOH, I shot the sheriff, but I didn't overcook no tofu.
Keep this in mind everyone -- be polite!
I declare I am off the record. You can not quote me on any posts I have made on this website
Nice -- thank you -- will read!

And that "a university education" is a one way process, not an essentially symbiotic one with benefits for both teacher and student. But that's the result of decades of framing it in essentially consumerist/marketised terms.

You can't have that relationship if one end of it is essentially reactive
Cool! I've always been a fan! Haven't been able to read his real physics papers (yet? ha ha ...) but I have read all his popular books.

Russians started a human safari in Pokrovsk too. Videos are just civilians getting slaughtered under the surveillance of a drone. This will obviously not make it to headlines but please don’t let russians kill in silence
For extrapolation to the logical ends cf "Cycles in Time" from Penrose.

Perhaps absurd example but entropy "of a thing" does depend on the metric chosen. (As opposed to entropy of a signal, which depends on source.)
Like Minkowski & the L1 norm - if you constrain yourself to only vertical and horizontal moves, the limiting length of diagonal of a square is 2 not sqrt 2.
Johnson, leading the house of representatives, would prefer if Congress did *not* have power.
Johnson blames the No Kings protests. Says “it is quite ironic.” Johnson says “if President Trump was a king” the government would be open.
More fighters for Ukraine!
Well there goes that one
Not only that you can get funded for studying there stuff, but that you have less of a chance of getting funded if you don't:

There is method to their narcissism though - the deeper the cuts, the more credibly big AI can present their tools as "the only alternative."
This is such an important point. All these AI companies present a false image of benevolence. It is a deeply narcissistic industry
Vs: "war of position" - I wait for the other guy to collapse. "War of maneuver" - not good enough -- collapse harder!

The Japanese opposition is quite possibly the most incompetent political opposition in east Asia and it’s competing with two countries that don’t even have a real political opposition lol.

G-D bless them honestly imagine fumbling at the one yard line for 80yrs straight?
