Exactly. Conservatives are against teaching consent and responsibility because it reduces the pool of victims.
Note also that having trans kids realize they're trans makes them tainted goods and reduces their attractiveness for child predators because it teaches the kids they have agency and can stand up for themselves. The Republican party is run by such pedophiles, for example, Trump.
