"Unhinged fervor" - Linda T.
Note:
If you're out to replace one of the most respected members of Congress, regardless of whether their own bills ever make it to POTUS' desk or not, hanging your hat on the fact that they worked with Chuck Schumer (as CoS) during the shutdown's kabuki theater "fight" is intellectual bankruptcy.

Smokescreen
Wiles has been a political viper for decades, this isn't her going rogue.
This is to blunt 47 being in Epstein Files. The nod to Left that WJC wasn't there at all earned buy-in.
Vanity Fair isn't treating this like a hit piece; they helped publish Art of the Deal.

It's going to work too

You can't promote anti-intellectualism and come around later and say "no not like that, reason more"

Pick a lane; either you can believe in spooky ghosts or you can chase the Scooby-Doo villain
*Chris Rufo* warns X is making the right too conspiratorial:

"Americans can stick to...empirical reality or...follow conspiracy theories... For the Right, the danger is that an increasingly large fraction of our political coalition is choosing the second path"

me: So the name of The Weapon was revealed: Joyeuse.
Halo fan: I fucking hate when they assign a quality as a name. EWWW, I'M SO HAPPY.
me: No. "Joyeuse." Cortana, Joyeuse, and Durandal. Three legendary French swords.

H.F.: I don't read.
me: No shit.

There are few things that rub me the wrong way like kayfabe independence...except when it's astroturfed kayfabe independence.

I worked in Crisis PR. My cousin works for a midwest ad firm.
If "Madison Avenue" is directly referenced; that's the flag you should be looking at that this is bad.
However bad you think this is, it's much worse than that. IDK who Weiss pissed off, but it's someone unafraid of Ellison/Thiel money.
Major advertisers appeared to sit out a new CBS News town hall telecast Saturday, moderated by Bari Weiss and featuring an interview with Erika Kirk.

Lack of Madison Avenue support could challenge the viability of the format, which Weiss wants to expand

while you are making your best-SFF-books of the year lists you COULD, I'm just saying, think about which of those books are relevant to the aims of the Ursula K. Le Guin Prize for Fiction, and which ones you might wanna nominate for the prize when nominations open in March

Not dunking on the OP of this
Questions include: was this class avoidable? Was it mentioned in the course catalog that poetry would be covered?

If this is the only four weeks of academic instruction you'll ever receive on poetry, you actually NEED IT for rhetoric, among many other reasons.

The Other Sister (Yelling: The Movie)
Silence of the Lambs (good! but I'm not okay)
Kids (Everyone who says this film is good is wrong. Also, was I supposed to *LIKE* any character in this? Because every character made me incandescent...and I WAS THE TARGET AUDIENCE)
Never mind movies you’ve watched multiple times, name a movie you’ve watched once and would never watch again.

I live in DC. You think “official Washington” didn’t care what Trump administration 2 was likely to do?

Talk to someone who works at NIH. Or State. Or CFPB. Or DOJ. They all knew what was at stake. They were all scared + furious.

And reporters like Nuzzi saw none of it because they didn’t care.

Being poor is expensive. No one realizes this.
1/ Not true. It's hard to be poor here, but a lot of folks sacrifice a lot to get access to this school system. Also: a Brookline firefighter & teacher together would earn in this range. If two vital such members of our community can't live here, there's something very wrong.

Okay my hand has been forced. I have to say something nice about @americanuniversity.bsky.social
When I sought disability services and had my paperwork, I got everything I asked for, and their team jumped in and said "you also need XYZ"
I have many complaints about AU; DSS isn't one of them.

The real question is not "Why is Bluesky so left-coded," the real question is "Why can't the right exist in a social media environment without algorithmic assistance, where people can ignore them"

Would anyone like to learn Crisis Communications and Crisis PR from a 10-year burnout?
December 1, 2025 at 3:49 PM
I wish I had never worked in Crisis PR.

The ppl that can afford it don't deserve it
The ppl that need it don't understand it
The ppl that understand it typically won't need it

“.. the middle class is feeling squeezed. .. Lower-income households are basically in a recession.

“.. It's hard to get a job .. The cost of living is up .. Real incomes are trending down ..”
