SPUD #1 is out. Our first diy zine and it comes with fancy vinyl sticker. Illustrations and comics were all pencil on paper this time and we wrote some pieces of text about very relevant topics for the delight of more intellectual readers and those nostalgic. We kept them short, so don't worry
diy zine spud #1 standing next to a chalice, candles and palosanto burning on a bowl. smoke glows through candlelight. decorative fabrics in the same color of the candles give the photo an esoteric charm. Back and front cover of SPUD. The back says "The reason behind the beauty of this world lies beyond this world". Six hands seem to be part of a seal. On the front cover, those same hands have grown monstrous: has the seal been broken? 3 copies of SPUD #1 plus 2 vinyl stickers that feature 2 dark magicians with closed hands as in prayer. A pink spot that seems a sun crowns them and below the figures the word SELKIEPUKA. One of the comics featured in SPUD #1: SUCTION. Something very weird about someone's eye is happening: the character seems to be sucked through their eyehole inside their own skull. Is this even possible?

...why?
People keep saying that AI is inevitable. Like Bartleby, I'd prefer not to... We "have to use it!" My response to that is simply... WHY? Why is it being pushed so much and into so many things? Once you've gotten people to cede their decision making to an algorithm, eventually they'll stop thinking for themselves. Why would I outsource thinking for myself to a machine? I have a brain.

A breath of the fantastic… 1/2
Set in profile against a busy starscape, a regal woman exhales a frosty breath that starts as a delicate spiral before dissolving overhead. Her skin is pale and her wardrobe decidedly wintry, mostly white with pearlescent accents. She wears an ornate headdress, detailed in ornamentation, all swirls and flourishes. Her gown made of feathers and snowflakes opens high on the chest to expose more pale skin but she seems unaffected by the chill of winter.

The Gaunt Gargantuan Ghoul growled ghastly in pursuit of the indomitable Belial absconding its domains with shivering haste, flooding the crumbling cyclopean hall of columns with miasmic fumes to drain the life out of the Sanguine Goblin. Savoring his succulent vigor and grace by gnashing its lipless mandibles cravingly, a deafening grinding of bone crushing teeth from a bile dripping maw that frightens further the already horrified Belial mutant, his polearms all corroded by the fetid fog that rust metal and rot flesh. Surpassing the voracious legless Demon in speed and agility, the cacophony of phantasmagoric moans and bone snapping spoil his sense of direction, quickly losing the trace of his companions who all got pulled by the malignant orbit of their own dreadful Demons. "The Baneful Flame remembers, oh Sanguine Belial, and you are branded by that hand you brandish so proudly. Your soul is scarred by scorch just like my land was devastated by that sorcerous scourge. Your oppressors! Your magicians! Defilers of the fair sovereigns of these lands with their barbarous powers! Repent! Surrender your flesh and blood to me! Let me liberate your errant soul from that mutated prison of a body!" Rumbling ruinous fires engulfed the vast abyssal halls, chasing both the intrepid Slayer and its gigantic grotesque predator, desperately looking for a way out of the flame tide's trajectory. Crooked clawed hands of the gnarly giant nearly grasping at Deadhand with a radiated touch, before fending then away with his cleaver.
