I ran (the first of what will likely be two parts of) the final boss fight for my D&D campaign, and not only did I update some of the NPC token art, but I also thought I'd share the actual enemy tokens I'm running this time!

One of my favorite inspirations for armored raiders are Los Vagabundos of Lost Planet 2, who are inexplicably hispanic speaking despite being in a distant science fiction future. Festive hunters of the sands, fending off monstrous aliens and scavenging technology and that precious thermal energy.

Truly something that I would encourage to be displayed in the walls of an artistic gallery celebrating underrated authors that transcend medium expectations, because your art has definitely bridged the generations of people to know authors from eras past that deserve to be revisited!

Honestly, with how many great "horror" adjacent movies there have been dominating this year, it truly is a shame that these anthologies haven't truly overcome the expectation of feeling cheap and trashy. Which maybe is the appeal, but in this case, they could have experimented way more.

I love when V/H/S movies come out because in the last 5 years it meant that spooky seasons is here, but also for 2 years in a row the movies themselves are so fucking bad it's genuinely embarrassing to watch - and then check back with all the usual suspects to see the most insane glazing going on.

It doesn't help that this year has been packed with truly fantastic movies that have been transcending the genre expectations of horror into becoming the best written and most enjoyable watches in cinema, and the pulpy cheap anthology style of V/H/S is adorable but leaves a lot to be desired.
