What I find interesting here is the putative division between "Dem cities" and MAGA-friendly territories.

This is kinda the Mason-Dixon-sorta division shaping out as prep for a New Civil War.

He'll let Vance have the legally-mandated role, just as long as Vance agrees to let Miller be his puppet master. Miller is not comfortable in a visibly responsible role; he prefers to lurk in the shadows and let someone else take the heat.
