Disney should make an open-world game where you can ride light bikes on the grid. Set it after Legacy and you play the revived Tron who Sam has tasked with clearing out the remaining bad code (programs) after Clu’s defeat.

It’s like when they call “No Fascist” graffiti “anti-Trump,” meaning they think any attack against fascism must be against Trump because he is the fascist they know of.

Classifying the No Kings rallies as “Hate America” rallies means that Republicans agree that America is currently being run like it has a King because they are the ones conflating the two.

Even the racist Republicans at least knew it was gauche to have symbols of it, or hated Nazis for being bad in other ways.

Also, like all Trump constructions - including his own visage - ugly. He’s going to ruin an iconic silhouette in an iconic city all so that years from now people will say “what’s that ugly, empty box next to the White House?” And people will say “the Trump Ballroom, barely used.”

They’re describing press releases. They are reinventing the concept of only telling people what you want them to know about you, which of course has no value when trying to make smart business decisions and no entertainment value which is why regular people don’t read them.

You could probably just get Olivia Wilde to direct the next one for half the budget and have it be old Flynn rescued from the grid finally returning to the real world, being horrified, and then getting high and saying zen shit while he builds with light.

This is just what Tron is like. They don’t really need to make more, but if they do, the key is to be visually impressive but budget conscious, and not put an uncharismatic sex creep in the lead. But Disney will probably make a pretty penny on soundtracks and rentals and Tron rides.

Far be it from me to defend big studio IP, but Ares only made slightly less in its opening than Legacy while costing slightly more, though inflation makes that a bigger deal. Both precious movies were considered disappointments but eventually went on to make money and grow in popularity.

Might I suggest the next Congress and President pass the Restitution Act which will restore and funding Trump cut including retroactive payment.

Trump is upfront in saying he will use the shutdown to punish Democrats, and here are the receipts. About $27.2 billion cut from Dem districts compared to about $0.7 billion in GOP districts.
We all complain about the media, but need this type of in-depth journalism.

Think of how many times they’ve adapted Pride & Prejudice but there are basically 2 that anyone ever watches or talks about - one miniseries, one film - and everything else is largely forgotten and ignored.

The Mean Girls musical movie was good, but it wasn’t Mean Girls. And only people who loved Mean Girls cared to see it, but most refused to because they already had Mean Girls so they didn’t need a different version.

If you make an Amadeus miniseries, anyone who hears about it will hear that there was an earlier, very great version and will just watch that. And with that urge sated, only people who loved it so much that they want more will tune in. But of course they’ll be disappointed it’s not what they love.

I don’t blame studios for wanting to re-adapt a popular property especially in a different medium or style. But if there’s one really successful adaptation already, you’re almost always going to be compared negatively to it and be limited to an audience of curious people wanting to see if you failed

He was also Morbius and that was a big flop but also a meme so I guess they hoped that would translate to popularity in general. But literally no one has ever credited a project’s success to his involvement. Even My So Called Life or Dallas Buyer’s Club, they’d say “this lead is great. He’s good too

Cheryl Hines was on The View and defending her husband being unqualified for his job by saying he’s “spent his career studying toxins.

Oh, really? Which university did he study at? Was he working in a lab running tests? A medical journal? Or do you mean he just skimmed a bunch of blogs?

But, of course, they are insufferable losers even to each other, so they turn on each other to try to gain the favor of more popular people. That’s the whole reason we know about these chats: one of them released them to make the others look bad.

They don’t “joke” about ovens as a threat but because they don’t get humor and thinks it makes them sound edgy and tough. They talk about power not because they have good ideas or goals but because they think it means people will be forced to be their friend and look up to them.

Those college Republicans are like a lot of the people currently running the party. They aren’t genius elites, they are big dorks that no one else wanted to hang out with, so they pretend that’s by choice and that everyone else is actually so dumb commie who needs to be taken down for America.
