Books, crafts and getting lost in the woods. She/Her.

An hour later than I intended, but the car is packed and I'm fucking off into the woods for a few days. Be good.
Good morning! Today I am finishing Wendy, Darling by A.C. Wise, and I haven't decided what's next but as I am also generally in a novella mood these days, probably The Desert Talon by Karin Lowachee.
I retract this statement
It's reassuring to know that even though everything else in my life is chaotic right now, I can still rely on the Jays to let me down

What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?
Wow. Must be nice to be able to afford food.
I saw one of these a few months ago at a church on the Isle of Harris and had no idea there were more! They're kind of fascinating
This week I have:

1. Completed a craft with supplies I already owned.
2. Sat down and watched a recent movie start to finish.
3. Scheduled a proactive/preventative dental appointment.

Who am I and what have I done with myself?
Covid jab acquired. Now to nap in the sunshine while it's still warm enough to do so.
Anyway, fuck Amazon.
I've mostly stopped reviewing things on GR for about a year now because I was putting pressure on myself, but today I decided I should at least go rate/review the self pub and small press books I've enjoyed and damn, GR seems to be even worse now. The interface is exactly the same, and yet.
It may be autumn and the leaves are starting to change colour, but there's still time to enjoy the garden.

For your Sunday afternoon #bloomscrolling, a very cheerful daisy.
A dark pink Gerber daisy in full bloom. The petals are mostly dark pink, but white closest to the center
Good morning! I am still rereading the Hobbit, but as I'm trying to read slowly for a read along, I'm also cracking open The First Thousand Trees by Premee Mohamed. I'm very excited about it!
I had to crack open the prednisone this morning so now I feel like I could fight God.
My brain is so fogged in today I should probably just go back to bed and try again tomorrow.

30 minutes into my work day and I'm ready to walk into the sea.
Or get raptured I guess.
It is a beautiful mug but the weight and balance is just wrong and it doesn't feel right when I hold it.
Ooh, I think this means there's a new Year of Blue story from Rachael Cupp awaiting me!
I am a hardcover hater anyway but even if I wasn't the $40 price tags on new releases would make me into one.
It's the one with Tolkien's illustrations, though I have the Jemima Catlin one around here somewhere as well
I've started a reread of The Hobbit. I was gifted a lovely illustrated version last year and this seems the right time to really savour it.
A lovely surprise in the garden this morning: my strawberry plant is producing again!

Good morning! I'm nearing the end of Rosewater by Tade Thompson, which is great. I'm particularly enjoying the non linear structure.
